A skyscraper that would be a modern landmark in Vancouver, Canada, and at the same time improve people's daily lives and the urban landscape, in general, was the vision of the internationally renowned architect Bing Thom. This vision was passed on to Revery Architecture (formerly Bing Thom Architects).
The Butterfly is an impressive 57-story tower designed for mixed-use functions. This will allow luxury, as well as more affordable residential units to co-exist harmoniously with commercial spaces along with the surrounding environment (green spaces, leisure areas, etc.), enhancing the sense of community.
The wavy concrete facade is combined perfectly with the glazing surfaces, giving the building a sense of movement and a unique character. The advanced lift and slide and hinged aluminum systems that were selected ideally complement the aesthetic result while offering high energy efficiency, maximum functionality, robustness, and wind resistance.
